CPGIS 2008 Geomatics Workshop was Successfully Hold in Heilongjiang Geomatics Industrial Park

To improve the communication and cooperation between Heilongjiang Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (HLJBSM), Heilongjiang Geomatics Industrial Park (HGIP) and the International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Sciences (CPGIS), HLJBSM, CPGIS and George Mason University (GMU) jointly held the "CPGIS 2008 Geomatics Workshop" in HGIP form July 1 - 2, 2008 to strengthen the rapid development of the geomatics industry in Heilongjiang province.

During workshop, Mr. Miao Qianjun, Deputy Director of HLJBSM and Vice-Director of HGIP Management Committee and Dr. QIU Fang, the president of CPGIS delivered opening speeches and signed the MOU for establishing the CPGIS Northeast station at HLJBSM. Professor Lin Hui, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Tao Chuang, Senior Director of Microsoft Virtual Earth, Professor Li Bin, geography department chair of Central Michigan University, Professor Yang Chaowei, director of the joint center for intelligent spatial computing at George Mason University, Professor Li Xia, Changjiang Scholar of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Liu Lin, chair of geography department of University of Cincinnati, Professor Chen Aijun, George Mason University, Professor Wang Fahui of Louisiana State University and Professor Luo Wei of Northern Illinois University participated in the workshop and presented the latest advancement of geomatics.

The workshop was successfully hold and improved technological exchange between CPGIS scholars and geospatial professionals in Heilongjiang province.
