Dear CPGISers,

As the Chair of CPGIS Service Committee and the Chair of BOD, I am very please to announce through this mailing list that this year's CPGIS Service of Excellence Awards went to the following recipients -

CPGIS Service of Excellence Award Individual Award-  Dr. Wei Luo, Associate Professor, Northern Illinois University

CPGIS Service of Excellence Award Group Award - 2006-07 Newsletter Committee (Drs. Yongqian Tian, Jun Yang, Qinghua Guo, Xin Mian, and Jianwu Tang).

The recipients were selected through an open nomination process that was organized by the Service Committee, followed by an anonymous voting by BOD.

These awards were presented to the recipients on June 24, 2011 at the 19th GeoInformatics' Conference in Shanghai. Dr. Xin Miao accepted the group award on behalf of the 2006-07 Newsletter Committee. For other members on the committee, please respond to me through email so that an e-version of the plaque can be sent to you.
