The Guidelines for The CPGIS Annual Conference (Geoinformatics)

 

Approved by CPGIS BOD on the date of October 18, 2010

 

1. The CPGIS Annual Conference Committee, chaired by the CPGIS President, is the official representative of CPGIS for the annual conference.


2. CPGIS and the local organizer shall sign an agreement that covers issues related to the Conference, especially those stated in this Guidelines.


3. CPGIS shall be an organizer of the conference on all conference materials and publications.


4. The CPGIS President shall serve as a co-chair of the conference.


5. The call for papers (CFP) of annual conference shall be screened by CPGIS BOD for CPGIS policy compliance before it is released.


6. The CPGIS BOD shall provide a list of candidates to be included in the conference committees.


7. The CPGIS BOD shall select one keynote speaker for the conference. The local organizer is responsible for covering the fees and expenses of the speaker.


8. The CPGIS President shall give an opening address at the conference.


9. The local organizer of the conference shall return a minimum of $1000 (or the equivalent) to CPGIS immediately after the conference.


10. The local organizer of the conference shall provide full financial support to the CPGIS Best Student Paper Competition. The minimum monetary value of the awards shall be $1200, with $600 for the first-place award, $300 for the second-place award, and $150 for each of the two third-place awards.


11. The local organizer of the conference shall host a CPGIS Night Party during the conference.


12. The conference language is English. A translator shall be provided for the opening ceremony by the local organizer if there are non-English speakers.


13. The organizing committee shall submit a financial report to the CPGIS BOD immediately after the conference.
