Postpone the 28th CPGIS Annual Meeting

Title Postpone the 28th CPGIS Annual Meeting
Date 2020-04-17

Dear CPGIS members,

As the COVID-19 epidemic continues and the clear pattern of worldwide transmission and infection emerges, the CPGIS BOD and Annual Conference Committee has made a difficult decision unanimously to postpone the 28th CPGIS Annual Conference to June 26th-28th, 2021. The meeting will still be held at the Jiangxi Normal University, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, China. Correspondingly, the 29th CPGIS Annual Conference will be postponed to 2022, which will be held at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Beijing China.

We understand that this is unwelcome news as the CPGIS Annual Conference is a major highlighted event of the year for the Chinese and international geographer community. We waited for as much information as possible before making our decision, but ultimately we realized that holding the meeting may threat participants’ and public health and violate the local law.

CPGIS would like to make the most of all the work that has been contributed to this year’s annual conference. Submitted abstracts and full papers will be transferred to next year’s annual conference, as well as registration fees. Meanwhile, if you cannot attend next year’s meeting, please contact us (cpgis@qq.com) for a full refund.

As we plan for this transition, we appreciate your patience. More details on the 28th CPGIS Annual Conference can be found through the http://www.cpgis2020.com/.

Yours sincerely,

Qinghua Guo
