Describe:  The Geospatial Information Sciences program at the University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor in Geography, with a specialization in Spatial Data Science. A successful candidate should be demonstrably committed to outstanding teaching in spatial data science, GIS, data analytics, and/or remote sensing at the undergraduate and the graduate levels. The teaching load is three courses for each of the fall and spring semesters (a total of six courses annually). We are especially interested in candidates who can teach, among other thematic classes, spatial data sciences, GIS theories and models, GIS applications in crime, as well as introductory and upper-level GIS courses. The position is a nine-month appointment with an opportunity to teach during summer, depending on needs. A successful candidate will be involved in curriculum development, supervision of teaching assistants, and collaboration with other faculty members. The initial two-year appointment will begin in Fall 2022, and can be renewable with for a long-term position. A Ph.D. in Geography or closely related field at the time of appointment is preferred, but an ABD Ph.D. candidate will also be considered.
