The School of Social and Political Sciences seeks to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Transport Planning. We encourage applications from candidates with research and teaching interests in urban transport and/or mobility, and strengths in the use of advanced quantitative research methods.
The successful candidate will work in the Urban Studies subject area with an international reputation for teaching and research excellence. They will also play a leading role in the ESRC-funded Urban Big Data Centre (https://www.ubdc.ac.uk) where transport and mobility are a major thematic focus. The purpose of the post is to make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the subject and Centre through leading and contributing to research of international standard, high quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, securing research funding, and providing academic leadership and management within the wider School. Leadership of the MSc in Urban Transport is a core expectation, along with teaching contributions within that programme. The successful candidate will also actively engage in relationships with external stakeholders that advance knowledge exchange, public understanding and outreach.
