Organized by Prof. Hongjie Xie, the CPGIS had a successful gathering at AGU conference in D.C. on December 12, 2010 with 23 attendants, including 18 new persons from different countries and institutions, The meeting last for 4.5 hours. Hongjie distributed documents and information (CPGIS brochure with CPGIS URL, membership application form, Annals of GIS cover pages example, subscription information for the Annals of GIS, flyer for the 2011 Geoinformatics Conference in Shanghai, and the latest newsletter of CPGIS) at the meeting. The group walked to the Chinatown for the dinner. Dr. Chaowei Yang from George Mason University provided patial support for the dinner through the Joint Center for Intelligent Spatial Computing (CISC) as part of the Center’s outreach activities.
