Dear CPGIS Members:
CPGIS is seeking motivated individuals who are interested in serving the CPGIS community. Please self-nominate or nominate members for the following vacancies. To improve the geographic representativeness and diversity in the CPGIS leadership, we particularly encourage and welcome nominees from regions other than North America and China.
1) President (2026, 1-year term)
2) Four Board of Directors (BOD) Members (three non-student positions and one student position, 2025 & 2026, 2-year term)
The responsibilities and eligibility of the CPGIS President’s Office and the BOD are described in the recently amended bylaws accessible online. Any CPGIS member with a valid membership can nominate, be nominated for the BOD, and vote. The candidates for President must be current members of CPGIS and have at least one year of experience as a member of the BOD or as a (co-) chair of one of CPGIS committees when nominated. The BOD candidates shall be valid CPGIS members at the time of nomination. The student BOD candidates shall be full-time enrolled students and valid CPGIS student members at the time of nomination.
Please send your nominations (name and within 150 words short bio including a professional headshot photo) and/or direct your inquiries to the Election Committee by November 25, 2024: Guiming Zhang (guiming.zhang@du.edu), Di Zhu (dizhu@umn.edu), Heng Cai (hengcai@tamu.edu), and Gengchen Mai (gengchen.mai@austin.utexas.edu).
We greatly appreciate the excellent service provided by the following outgoing BOD members: Lan Mu (Chair), Shaohua Wang, Rui Zhu, Manzhu Yu, and Yikang Wang (student member).
Thank you for your support of CPGIS!
