Presentations are encouraged to address issues such as climate change, precision medicine, urban mobility, crime analysis, migration, disaster, and environmental sustainability. A wide range of disciplines related to Geographic Information Sciences are invited, including: Geography, Cognitive science, Computer science, Engineering, Information science, Social science, Urban Planning, and among others.

In addition, UCL SpaceTimeLab will hold the 10-year anniversary event on the afternoon of July 21 in the same venue. This event will consist of presentations and panel discussion. While the registration of this event is separate from the conference of Geoinformatics 2023, this event is free and open to all participants of Geoinformatics 2023.

Registration Refund Policy:

If participants cannot attend the conference due to a rejected visa application or other uncontrollable causes, the registration fee is partially refundable, excluding the credit card processing fee.

If you are not able to attend due to personal reasons, the registration fee is not refundable.

Authors can choose to submit either an abstract (short paper) or a full-length paper.

Instructions to Authors:
(1)  The length of an extended abstract is usually 800 – 1000 words in English. It is basically a shortened full paper and contains all major information about the research, particularly the objective, methodology, results, and conclusion. Please use the WQRD template of extended abstract to prepare your submission of this type. 
(2)  A full paper for the Conference Proceedings must follow the format requirements of IEEE. Please use the WORD template of full paper for Conference Proceedings prepare the submission. If you are using Latex to prepare for your full paper, you can download the latex template from IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings. The length of such a full paper is usually 6-10 pages. It is highly recommended that the paper be proofread by an experienced English editor. Papers that do not meet the format and language requirements will not be further reviewed for content.
(3)  For a full paper, if accepted, to be published in the Conference Proceedings, the authors of the paper must present it in the conference and pay additional publication fee $200. Accepted papers not presented by the authors in the conference will not be published in the proceedings.


Full Paper Publication Fee:  

Please click the right side-menu "Publication Fee" to pay if your "full paper" (usually 6-10 pages) has been accepted for publication and will be included in the Geoinformatics 2023 IEEE Conference Proceedings. 

Special issues in peer-reviewed journals:

Selected papers in specific topics will also be published as conference special issues in two peer-reviewed journals: Annals of GIS and Computational Urban Science. Authors who are interested in submitting papers to the special issues are encouraged to contact lead Guest Editors (TBC).

l  Gold (5,000 GBP): we provide you a table in a prominent position near the registration desk. A leaflet/brochure/promotional item will be included in the participant packs. One representative is invited to attend the conference, which presents an excellent opportunity for one on one networking with the participants. From the time your booking is confirmed we will include your logo on the conference brochures and website with a link to your site. We will give you 5 minutes to present at the closing ceremony.

l  Silver (2,500 GBP): we provide a space for your banner in a prominent position near the registration desk. A leaflet/brochure/promotional item will be included in the participant packs.
