Presentations are encouraged to address issues such as climate change, precision medicine, urban mobility, crime analysis, migration, disaster, and environmental sustainability. A wide range of disciplines related to Geographic Information Sciences are invited, including: Geography, Cognitive science, Computer science, Engineering, Information science, Social science, Urban Planning, and among others.

Both full and student onsite registration fee cover:

1. Conference CD proceedings;

Registration Refund Policy:

If participants cannot attend the conference due to a rejected visa application or other uncontrollable causes, the registration fee is partially refundable, excluding the credit card processing fee.

If you are not able to attend due to personal reasons, the registration fee is not refundable.

You need a visa to enter UK.

If you need an invitation letter, use our formal acceptance letter, or please e-mail the following: 1) your Date of Birth, 2) your Passport Number, 3) your detailed workplace address, and 4) the digital receipt showing that you have successfully paid for the registration fee.


Submission and Acceptance:

Authors can choose to submit either an abstract or a full-length paper to Easychair:

Students attending Best Student Paper Competition must submit a full-length paper. The submission procedure will be announced separately.

Important Notes:

(1) For a full paper to be included in the conference proceedings, the author(s) must present it in the Geoinformatics annual conference.

(2) Due to the copy right restriction, the authors can choose to publish, if accepted, their papers either in the Conference Proceedings or a journal, but NOT BOTH.Publication Charge:

Full papers that are accepted to be included in the IEEE Conference Proceedings will be charged a publication fee of $200, which is separate from the conference registration fee. The fee will be used to cover the cost in managing, reviewing, and compiling the submissions for the proceedings.
Publication Fee Refund Policy:If a paper is accepted to be published in the IEEE Conference Proceedings, but its authors cannot present it in the conference for an uncontrollable cause, the paper will not be published in the IEEE Conference Proceedings. In this case, the authors must contact the local organizer within 30 days after the last day of the conference to receive a refund of 50 % of the paid publication fee. After this 30-day grace period, none of the paid publication fee is refundable.


Instructions to Authors:

(1)  The length of an extended abstract is 1000 – 1500 words in English. It is basically a shortened full paper and contains all major information about the research, particularly the objective, methodology, results, and conclusion. Please use the WQRD template of extended abstract to prepare your submission of this type. The deadline of submission is March 20th, 2022.

(2)  A full paper for the Conference Proceedings must follow the format requirements of IEEE. Please use the WORD template of full paper for Conference Proceedings prepare the submission. If you are using Latex to prepare for your full paper, you can download the latex template from IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings. The length of such a full paper is 6-8 pages. It is highly recommended that the paper be proofread by an experienced English editor. Papers that do not meet the format and language requirements will not be further reviewed for content. The deadline of submission is March 20th, 2022.

(3)  For a full paper, if accepted, to be published in the Conference Proceedings, the authors of the paper must present it in the conference. Accepted papers not presented by the authors in the conference will not be published in the proceedings.

(4)  If the author chooses to submit her/his full paper to the special issue of a supporting journal, she/he needs to follow the supporting journal’s Instructions to Authors. Special issues associated with the conference are announced on the webpage for submitting full papers.

Special issues in peer-reviewed journals:

Selected papers in specific topics will also be published as conference special issues in two peer-reviewed journals: Annals of GIS and Computational Urban Science. Authors who are interested in submitting papers to the special issues are encouraged to contact lead Guest Editors (TBC).
