Abstract:  The investment for Coalbed Methane(CBM) field’s gas gathering system on the ground accounts for more than 60% of the total investment. The innovative technology of “multiple accesses, flexible gathering” was adopted by the pioneering project conducted by China United Coalbed Methane Company in Qinshui County of Shanxi Province. This technology will largely save the investment of ground gathering system in CBM field. However??? application of the innovative technology raises new demands for the acquisition and management of data during production in the CBM field ground gathering system. Considering the locally gathering, multi-level pressurization and polling measurement technological processes in “multiple accesses, flexible gathering”, we proposed a new data storage model for CBM field ground gathering system. This model is capable to handle the topology of stations, devices and pipelines and the corresponding relationship between the metering equipments and the drilling wells. More than one hundred of tables associated with the viewgraphs and Entity-Relation diagrams were designed to build up the CBM field ground gathering integrated management information system. The established ground gathering database system mainly includes two parts: spatial database and dynamic production database. The spatial database, which constitutes the basic simulation platform of ground gathering system, is mainly used to store the spatial position and the topology of stations, devices and pipelines. The dynamic production database is mainly used to store the real-time monitoring data that representing the operational status of different devices during production. Base on the proposed data model, we designed the database system for ground gathering and transportation of gas. Application of this system in the ground gathering system of Qinshui CBM field of China United Coalbed Methane Company shows its capability in acquiring and managing of the production data. Moreover???this study laid the foundation for data mining during safely production and the simulated operation of system management.
